This is short comparison of the two leading Linux distros Ubuntu and Linux Mint.Ubuntu is based on debian linux where as Linux Mint is a successor of Ubuntu.Recently a rolling edition of Linux Mint called LMDE is released and it is based on Debian Testing.Both these Os uses EXT 4 as default file system. The packet management is similar in both.The user interface is different in Ubuntu and Linux Mint.Ubuntu uses Unity shell where as Linux Mint uses its own customized Gnome 3 called Cinnamon and also MATE desktop interface.
